Tania trained as a mediator in the UK and is accredited by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) and Mediation UK. She has mediated in a wide range of workplace, commercial and community disputes, working both independently and through organisations such as CEDR, Camden Mediation Service, Total Conflict Management and Consensio Partners. She has designed and led mediation workshops for diverse groups including HR and management professionals, lawyers, doctors and community workers, both in the UK and since moving to Tokyo several years ago in Japan. She writes regular articles on mediation and conflict management for HR magazines such as Training Journal, HR Zone and HR Director.
During this time, she discovered a passion for the people side of business, and began to specialize in communication and leadership. She then spent seven years as a freelance mediator and communications trainer in the corporate and community sectors. She also helped to set up and facilitate The Bee School, a leadership training programme for aspiring change-makers, working alongside founder (and Nobel Peace Prize nominee) Dr Scilla Elworthy.
Beyond mediation, Tania is also a trainer in FEW (For Empowering Women) in Japan, as well as a corporate trainer helping businesspeople improve their presentation skills, logical thinking and general communication skills.Since moving to Tokyo in November 2010, she has been carrying out communications and leadership training for a range of global organizations including the banking, telecoms and manufacturing sectors. Alongside her corporate work, Tania is a performer and teacher of Corporeal Mime, a stylised physical theatre-form. She holds a a Diploma and Post-Graduate Degree from the International School of Corporeal Mime (London).
Tania began her career as a management consultant in London and Paris, and has a diploma from the International School of Corporeal Mime and a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University (Christ Church).Tania spent the first half of her career as a management consultant with UK-based Burlington Consultants (now part of Deloitte), where she carried out commercial due diligence as well as strategy and organizational consulting, working out of London, Paris and Cape Town. One of her responsibilities at Burlington was to set up a Joint Venture with Andrew Campbell and Michael Goold of the Ashridge Strategic Management School, focusing on organization design and effectiveness.
